Alma Alghubar
Alma Alghubar is the hydrogeologist for Naturishly. Alma was born and raised in one of the most arid regions of the world: the Iranian desert. Growing up in an environment where water was more precious than gold, Alma developed an early fascination with the life-giving power of water and the vital role it plays in sustaining ecosystems and communities. She knows firsthand how fragile this resource is, and her life’s work has been dedicated to its preservation and equitable distribution.
After earning her degrees in Hydrogeology and Environmental Science from universities in Tehran and Paris, Alma went on to specialize in groundwater management and water sustainability practices. Her focus is on the preservation of water as a critical, endangered resource, and she works tirelessly to ensure that all people—especially those in water-scarce regions—have access to clean water for consumption. She is equally passionate about promoting recycled water for agricultural and industrial uses, advocating for technologies that allow us to use water more efficiently and sustainably.
Alma’s work takes her around the world, collaborating with governments, NGOs, and local communities on sustainable water management projects. She has been involved in everything from drilling deep wells in remote villages to designing advanced irrigation systems that maximize crop yield while minimizing water waste. For Alma, water is not just a natural resource—it’s a human right. Her vision is a world where access to clean water is universal, and where we learn to recycle and conserve this most precious element so that future generations can thrive.
When in the office, Alma is known for her laser focus and calm demeanor, even in the face of mounting global water crises. She’s often the one to gently remind the team about the impact of their choices, whether it’s remembering to bring reusable water bottles or reconsidering those long showers after a tough day. Her dedication to water preservation is evident not only in her work but also in the small, thoughtful ways she lives every day. And if you ever get lost in her many maps and hydrographs, don’t worry—Alma will patiently guide you back to shore.
